Why is Mt. Rushmore on my web site?

I'm glad you asked!  Did you know that Mt. Rushmore was originally called Rushmore Rock?

In 1885 lawyer Charles Edward Rushmore was being guided by Indians through the Black Hills to view mines his clients in New York state were considering. The evenings were spent hearing stories.  One night he asked the name of a a large granite outcropping.  His Indian guides jokingly said they'd call it "Rushmore Rock."

Charles registered the name in the U. S. Patent office.  When that particular outcropping was chosen for the carving in the 1920's, the name was changed to Mt. Rushmore.  My husband, Charles Henry Rushmore, Jr., is a great-great nephew and namesake of Charles Edward Rushmore.

Mt. Rushmore now symbolizes to the world the solid rock foundation of democracy.

Just as Mt. Rushmore evolved from a nameless rock to an international symbol, I would like to help your business become a highly recognized and respected leader in its industry.  The best way to do that is to create unique communication tools designed to convey your message simply but memorably.

If you would like to know more about Mt. Rushmore, visit the National Parks web site or the South Dakota Tourism web site.  If you have never seen Mt. Rushmore, it is well worth your time and effort to make the trip.
